A nice walk between beauty and history in the old town center of Ravenna, to discover 5 UNESCO rare sights.

Giustiniano and Teodora will welcome us with majestic gold details in the Basilica of San Vitale; you’ll feel strong emotions while getting into the small Mausoleum of Galla Placidia where the cobalt blue mosaic tiles embrace a dome made of gold stars. Afterward we’ll be reaching Dante’s grave and the submerged crypt in the close San Francesco Church which will leave you without words! You’ll be surprised when in the Neonian Baptistery it’ll seem that the apostles mosaics can move in a festive dance around Christ while being baptized in the Jordan river. We’ll take a quick look to a couple of masterpieces in the Archiepiscopal Museum to end our visit admiring the longest mosaic walls (more than 50meters!) of the Basilica of Saint Apollinaris.

Since we’ll walk for about 7km, we’ll take a break in the middle of our visit for a tasty homemade popsicle or a salty snack made with a special local product: the famous and very healthy black garlic which does not leave the taste of garlic in your mouth!
